1: Loose Weight And Get In Shape

GOLD: Loose 30kgs [66lbs]
SILVER: Loose 20kgs [44lbs]
BRONZE: Loose 10kgs [22lbs]
PASS: Regular Gym Attendance

NOTE: This has been prolonged for far too long and last year, every time i worked to shed the pounds, i would have easily doubled it during holidays etc. So this year, its one of my main targets to achieve and i have a good feeling about, being able to loose 5kgs in the first two weeks of January 2010. I'm currently 5'9 and 100kgs [220lbs]

2: Steady Job & Regular Income

GOLD: RM2,000 per month/ 6 months
SILVER: RM2,000 per month/ 3 months
BRONZE: RM1,000 per month/ 6 months
PASS: RM1,000 per month/ 2 months

NOTE: I've had some standard work from home type of jobs and helping an event company as a crew but now I'm aiming for a solid income with two offers in hand. Just in the midst of deciding, so that the work wont take up my study time to complete my law degree. But this area looks to be fine, for now.

3: LAW Degree

GOLD: 4 A's
SILVER: 3 A's
BRONZE: 2 A's
PASS: Proceed to the next level with passes in all four subjects.

NOTE: I've got another year to complete my degree in LAW with University Of London and though I've had some setbacks last year, I'm not giving up. Right now, i believe i can achieve the Bronze but with still 3 months to go for my examinations, I'm aiming for a better result.

4: Organize Events/Campaigns

GOLD: 3 Major Events/ 2 Artists
SILVER: 2 Major Events/ 1 Aritst
BRONZE: 1 Major Event
PASS: Conduct any events (indoor/outdoor), including advertising and designing for a particular company.

NOTE: From helping out an event company over the last two years, i finally managed to set up my own company, Groundbreaking Entertainment, end of last year with one main event completed in the following month. Anyhow, here are some realistic targets for this year and we already have 1 major artist set for a show end of the month. Hope all goes well in the advertising and designing departments, as well.

5: Writing - Complete Pending Novel from 2 years ago.

GOLD: Complete in August + Published
SILVER: Complete in September + Published
BRONZE: Complete in October + Published
PASS: Complete within the year and post it entirely on a personal blog/online, at least.

NOTE: After all the writing from HIW days, I started having the interest to write and thanks to Rob for introducing the 2007 nanowrimo to me. I never got to finish it up but now i'm planning to get it started, again and soon publish it. And Rob's idea of posting it online seems like a decent idea, if i don't get a willing publisher for my novel.

6: Travel & Leisure.

GOLD: Visit (Phuket) Thailand + Singapore + (Bali) Indonesia
SILVER: Visit (Phuket) Thailand + Singapore
BRONZE: Visit (Phuket) Thailand
PASS: Only managed to travel/holiday in Malaysia.

NOTE: It looks like a massive year ahead, so me and friends have planned for some exciting visit/holidays to the nearby countries first. I'd love to travel to other major countries, as well, perhaps saving that for next year.

__________________________________________________ ______________

That's my top 6 aims for the year, otherwise life is all good. Family, friends and my girlfriend - they're all good. *Touchwood* Been staying with my bro and sis in our condominium for a year plus while working/studying and parents are 7 hours drive away, living happily, lol. The Mrs. is staying a block away for the past month, and we've been going out for 10 months now. As for other activities, most of it can be seen on Facebook [Sukhpal Singh]*cheap plug* so yeah I've been enjoying actually but this year i would like to add on more excitement - let's see if i can find something more exciting to do like Ave (Jeff). Also, I'm saving up so that i can soon get a car and invest together with my gf to get our own condominium for the future - might just add that up in my list, if i feel like it by the end of the month.

Probably a handful, and likely all cheap swill. And sure, I'm dainty, why not.

I still have no goals. In fact, I may make one goal - drastically reduce my number of goals.

JOSH! THAT IS AN EXCELLENT GOAL! I will hold you to it. Will you let us know which goals you're trying to have less of?

Also, does anyone else just love Paller's list? Still the nicest guy in efedding, and possibly on the internet.

And PS: Paller, I only put the crazy stuff on there to help me through the boring stuff ;) Bali, Thailand, and Singapore all sound amazing - I've heard Singapore has the best clubs in the hemisphere.

Paller's list is the tits. He is the nicest guy on the internet, I'm near-certain. Great list of goals.

I might add one about completing my novel this year, but I feel that could be one too many creative goals. I have to see how the landscape looks in a months time I think.

That's the blue print to my rough draft. I already graduated though, so I'm sort of on cruise control for the time being. I'll think of some random shit to do though.

So I'm adding a goal.

I have a bad habit of tolerating fear and letting myself get shut down thinking about a million possibilities; this is actually similar to last year's perfectionism goal.

When I was younger, I learned that, in most cases, if you ran away from bad things they would just get excited and chase you. Literally. I also learned that the best way out of bad situations is to paddle really really hard/step on the gas, instead of sitting in the middle and waiting to get creamed by a truck. (This is actually related to me absent-mindedly running a red light at about 5mph last weekend, thinking it was a stop sign).

Anyhow. I'm adding to my original post: "Run at fear/Do something about things that are making you unhappy"

I've really procrastinated about getting a 2nd client - mostly because I have got next to no interested in cold-calling ever again in my life - but I was talking to Rob yesterday morning and realized this was giving me a lot of fear about my goals and my ability to build this business and the luxury of traveling to meet some of the other goals that I've got on this list.

So...I hit the ground. I scoured Craigslist (which is HELL ON EARTH for finding clients because of the number of people you're competing with, but much easier than putting yourself out there) and found a good listing after half an hour or so and used one of my dirty psychological tricks to make sure the guy saw my offer.

Well guess what?

He took me up on my free site analysis. He likes my proposal and wants to work together. Just need to agree on a price.

And now I feel better

EDIT: btw Ave, that's a great goal. I have struggled with that too, but I have gotten much better at it. My two cents: Every action you take, first your mind must make a decision. I feel, that if you associated the feeling you get after making said decision with fear, then most likely, you get the feelings of fear and negativity due to something unknown. These may be new things for you, and they are not easy but not impossible either. Your mind is not use to taking these actions, so it is probably asking you to provide it more info on the subject. I associate perfectionism with a fear of failure. And this helped me get over it: In life you will fail, it is truth. Do not expect yourself to get things right the first time. Just make sure that when you fail, you realize it, and you ask yourself why you failed. Then think out your next attempt, focus on the task and try again. And repeat if necessary until you do it. Failure is never an end. It is always a beginning.

I hope that helps.

On the event: Thanks. I mean, how could I not? They are our brothers. Human beings, just like us. I have always had my eye on Haiti. It's rough what's going on there, lots of misinformation and propoganda, poverty, etc. People have actually said to me, "Oh you only wait till a disaster happens to actually help and do something." I understand why they say this, but that is wrong. I have donated to Haiti before this and I always had positive thoughts on Haiti. The thing is, we have to step back and let a country find itself and help itself, before we can step in to help them. It's much better for them to do it themselves, and they are very capable of progress, than another country swooping in and doing it for them. But now, we have no other choice. They need our help now, and in the next few months, years. Depending how things go.

Definitely adding a new goal: International volunteer work. Most definitely.

MOTHERFUCKERS, I JUST BOOKED THE SHARK TRIP MOTHERFUCKERS! I'M GOING TO GO FLASH LIGHTS AND GIANT SHARKS MOTHERFUCKERS! WHAT THE FUCK AM I THINKING?!?!?!

The reality has just dawned on me that THESE FISH FUCKING EAT PEOPLE.

My friend said "Sometimes fear is a sign you're doing something good." I replied "Sometimes fear is a sign you're jumping in the water with a hunk of bloody meat, a strobe-light and a 20-foot long predator"

On the plus side, I have wanted to do this since I was 5. On the down side, when I was 5 I also thought I could fly if I flapped really hard.

It honestly doesn't seem believable to me that I'll be doing this. It seems totally fucking insane and utterly impossible, but hundreds of people do it every year, so...? That's actually the special quality of the goals I've set for myself this year:

Getting paid for my expertise at 24 seemed impossible
Diving with giant sharks that don't go after you seemed impossible
A human being holding their breath for 3 minutes and diving 88 meters seemed impossible

In fact, the first time I saw a video of freediving, I said "That's impossible. What's the trick?"

Admittedly, a lot of this is about challenging myself to break out of the monotony I've slipped into - doing things that are fascinating but "impossible." The other half is admittedly about self-creation/building my own legend a little bit. I'm not gonna lie. It's not as much to say to other people "I've dived with deadly sharks and can hold my breath for 3 minutes," as much as it is to say to myself "FUCK YEAH MOTHERFUCKER."

These are things I've wanted to do for almost the whole time I've been alive, and I can't fully explain how grateful I am to have the luck and opportunity to accomplish them, especially at my age.

In short, consulting is the tits.

Well, by the time all the money comes in I'll have beaten my gold goal for one month, bringing in closer to 800 over January. I know for a fact that won't be achievable long term in my current situation, but then January isn't over yet either, so I may end up averaging. Still, it might mean I'll finally be officially out of my overdraft.

We have a second rehearsal for An Enemy Of The People this Sunday at which I'll be finding out if I get a part with a line, or even lines plural, and if I do that'll be a huge step forward. While it would in one sense fulfil my bronze goal, it won't in as far as I'm not getting paid, and I have to be strict with these. Still, a step up for sure.

Aim to meet the agent this coming Friday if she's free, don't think she'll just take me on like, but still. On that front, the student film I'm in should be finished sometime next week too, and if I can get a copy to send to her as a show reel, I have a feeling that may at least take me toward tipping the balance. I already know what I did wrong at my last audition so I'll be changing the game ready for the next one.

Oh and this:
http://robmyles.co.uk/

is now updated with an excerpt of mckellenness. Just to make myself feel better really.

So:

When I was doing Clockwork Orange there was a film crew wanting to use it at the same time. I asked them if they need any extras and they invited a couple of us along. We were a crowd for a city hall meeting. I was in the third row back, and was selected for the 'hero group' of people to have close-ups.

That film was Chris Morris' upcoming Four Lions:

Four Lions

Chris Morris is a highly subversive (and superb) comedian and myself, benj, mo and most other intelligent British people love his work. If I make the final cut, playing a conservative a-hole, I will be fucking chuffed and will be making it a bonus-goal.

But I never posted, cause I really wanted to wait till' 2010 come around to start a new one with you guys.

I will have alot more later.

1. I can say I'm already at silver, as I have 1 local show confirmed with two more shaping up, and 2 major concerts shaping up. But they are all in PR. If these go down good, then I will look towards the States for my next shows.

2. Looks like Bronze so far, could be silver if I go to check the addresses I have, but I am pacing myself. No rush.

3. Not even pass. Well, I have lost 2 pounds. I'm at 218. So it is most likely fat the loss. But my diet is better, which is my main fucking issue.

4. Hoping to visit family in NYC, and may end up staying and moving to another state, which may be California. I can do Puerto Rico work easily from the continental us, and over there it is just better, period.

5. May be joining an MMA team. ;) Have possibilities and already restarted work on my boxing on my own, soon will be adding elbows into the mix. My kicks are fine, it was the first thing I learned when I was a kid. Just gotta get more practice and conditioning in, but my technique is always there, no matters.

and Josh, indeeds.
